Starting to write blog posts

The blog went live yesterday. This is one of the first things I have ever sat down and written that anyone else might read. I do not write outside of my own thoughts. I have not kept a journal. I have not posted essays. The bar for writing in public, until this week, was somewhere I had not been willing to walk up to.
Writing publicly is a forcing function. I noticed my thinking had become recursive. Ideas folded back on themselves before I could finish a sentence about them. I could feel the shape of an idea but I could not deliver it. The blog is the cure for that, even if the audience is mostly imagined. Knowing someone might read it forces the thought to land somewhere.
I am not a writer in the way real writers are writers. I write in my head, all day, but most of it never gets put down anywhere. The blog is the experiment of taking those thoughts and giving them a home outside of me.
Day one. The notebook is open. We will see what happens.
